The gender equality program of the SFB 854 focusses on doctoral candidates, postdocs, and medical graduates. The goal is to improve the equality between men and women in science, to take measures against the current underrepresentation of women in scientific leadership positions and to improve the compatibility of a scientific career and family.
Another important component in order to improve the compatibility between a scientific career and the responsibilities of having a family is good and reliable child care. The SFB 854 offers several possiblities regarding this.
Furthermore, the Otto-von-Guericke University offers multiple Mentoring & Coaching Programs for Women, which are of course open to the female scientists of the SFB 854. Apart from that, the OvGU provides a number of funding opportunities for female scientists.
