Vacant position in CRC854 project A20:
A postdoctoral research position is available in the Department of Hematology/Oncology, Medical Center (Universitätsklinikum Magdeburg), Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. This interdisciplinary dynamic research group hosts postdocs, medical fellows and research assistants and is headed by Prof. Dr. Thomas Fischer (http://www.khae.ovgu.de/Forschung.html).
The postdoc position is tailored for project A20 within the Collaborative Research Centre 854 (http://www.sfb854.de/SFB854/en/Projects-p-4.html) that studies the impact of integrins in pathophysiology of hematologic disease. The project employs cell and molecular biology techniques, cell-based disease models, patient samples and mouse models to investigate the mechanisms that underly the development of chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). Our group offers expertise in in vivo thrombosis experiments, 2-photon intravital microscopy, investigation of JAK2-V617F positive granulocyte adhesion, analysis of splenomegaly employing SPECT/CT and MRI and analysis of JAK2-V617F signaling pathways resulting in beta-1 and beta-2 integrin activation.
